WELCOME BACK BBQ!!! 9/25
On Sunday, September 25th, St. Mike's will host our annual Welcome Back BBQ to mark the beginning of the UCSB academic year. We'll have free food for all, games, a bouncy house, and the St. Mike's Band will play a set of acoustic music. Join us on the lawn outside the chapel just after the 10:30AM service. Food at noon. St. Mike has partnered with the IV Compost Collective (IVCC) by hosting a few compost piles in our garden, which are managed by the IVCC's "Dirt Riders". The IVCC provides a free food scrap pick-up service to residents in Isla Vista, utilizing 5 gallon buckets and an electric bike. Surfing and Spirituality invites students to engage their love of nature and neighbor with their love of God. Every week, we explore different spiritual practices in order to delve more deeply into how surfing itself can be a spiritual practice. Whether you are an avid surfer or have never been on a board--whether you have no spiritual training or are a seasoned monastic--come try it out! SEE YOU THERE!
The Rev. Scott Claassen is an Episcopal priest and lifelong surfer. Claassen has surfed everywhere from California to Indonesia, Fiji, Central and South America, Africa, Europe, Japan, and Hawaii. He has studied a wide variety of spiritual practices and traditions, and he is the vicar and chaplain at St. Michael’s University Church in Isla Vista.
Café Picasso Food Pantry and Sunday Brunch for Students

Every Sunday at 12:30 PM during the academic year, St. Mike's hosts a brunch in the Little House for area college students. Students may also access the Cafe Picasso Food Pantry at this time. Alcoholics Anonymous Meetings
St. Mike's hosts two 12-step meetings throughout the week: Thursdays 8-9pm and Saturdays 7-8:30pm. Note that the schedule of these groups during the summer months may vary. Group meetings are generally held in the Little House lounge (adjacent to the chapel).
