Community Eucharist ~ Sunday @ 10am
Join area residents, faculty, staff and other students for worship in the Episcopal tradition. Every Sunday morning at 10am we gather to hear sacred readings from the Bible, a short sermon and communion. A small choir made up of students, faculty and associates leads us in joyful song. Students serve as greeters, readers, choir members, acolytes, altar guild members and Eucharistic ministers. Our service is meditative and casual. The word Eucharist comes from a Greek word meaning "thanksgiving." Our Sunday worship service is a time for us to come together in community and give thanks for the great blessings of God in which we all share. Whoever you are, and wherever you are on your spiritual journey, you are welcome at God's table. Take some time out of your busy week to reflect, pray and deepen your spiritual life in community!
College Crew
~ College Crew, our student group, meets during the quarter for fun and soulful activities. Sometimes we gather for a simple community supper followed by an activity (like Bible Study, conversation on a certain topic, a movie, etc.) and close our time together with Compline or Night Prayer. Several times a quarter we offer mini field trips to such places as the Mount Calvary Monastery (a community of Episcopal monks in Santa Barbara), our sister campus ministry at Cal State University Channel Islands, the beach, a nature hike, bowling night, etc. College Crew is welcoming of all students – come be a part of our student community and feel free to bring along a friend! Find us on Facebook @ “Episcopal/Anglican Chaplaincy @ UCSB.”
Progressive Christian Students @ UCSB
~ Progressive Christian Students (PCS) gather to explore the intersection between faith and progressive ideals and politics. Activities range from Bible Study and conversation on a certain topic to attending an on-campus lecture or event as a group. Join us for stimulating discussion. For more information please see our PCS website:

Led by yoga instructor Tali Sanchez and chaplain Nicole Janelle. Newsflash: We made the front page of the UCSB Daily Nexus! Check it out

Since the fall 2007, St. Michael’s and St. Mark’s (Catholic) have collaborated to offer Taizé Prayer Services that invite participants into simple chanted prayer mantras, reflection on Bible readings and silent meditation in a warm candlelit space. Services generally last one hour. For more information on the community and spirituality of Taizé see

Episcopal Faculty/Staff/Grad Student Faith & the Intellectual Life Luncheons @ UCSB Faculty Club
~ The faculty/staff/grad student luncheons typically take place once or twice a quarter. Episcopal/Anglican-identified folk (and friends) are invited to this informal no-host lunch gathering at the Faculty Club. This is a wonderful way for Episcopalians on campus to get to know one another and to share a bit about their work and spiritual lives with each other. Please email the chaplain if you wish to receive an invitation and be placed on the listserv. Fall Quarter 2008 Meeting: TBD.
Bishop’s Advisory Committee

Standing Committee on Campus Ministry
~ The Standing Committee on Campus Ministry (SCCM) is a committee of the Bishop's Advisory Committee and is composed of members from Trinity, All Saints', Christ the King and St. Michael's congregations. The mission of the SCCM is three-fold: (1) to develop and support a regional model of campus and social justice ministry at St. Mike's, (2) to invite participation from area parishes in the ongoing ministry at St. Mike's and (3) to facilitate a fundraising strategy that provides stability to the Episcopal Campus Ministry @ UCSB. Members serve 2-3 year terms.
Alcoholic Anonymous (AA) & Overeaters Anonymous (OA) Meetings
~ St. Mike's hosts several AA and OA meetings throughout the week. The meeting schedule for these groups is as follows: OA - Monday, 6:30pm, AA - Thursday, 8-9pm and Saturday, 7-8:30pm. Group meetings are generally in the Little House lounge (adjacent to the chapel) and periodically in the chapel.
